Trauma-Focused Yoga

Trauma-Focused Yoga goes beyond trauma-informed yoga to directly address the struggles of mental health. Trauma-Focused Yoga is a style of yoga specifically designed to support healing from past trauma, relieve stress and anxiety, and regulate the nervous system. Students do not need to have past trauma to participate...anyone looking for a gentle, beginner-friendly movement class is welcome!

How Trauma-Focused Yoga is Different

Trauma-Focused Yoga differs from other styles of yoga in intentional ways:

  1. No hands-on adjustments
  2. Completely guided and demonstrated by the instructor
  3. Modifications are encouraged
  4. All poses and movements are optional


More than just poses

Every Trauma-Focused Yoga class with Mindful Empowerment will include more than just physical yoga poses. You will also be led in

  2. Breathing techniques
  3. Grounding skills

Expert Support

Mindful Empowerment yoga classes are led by an experienced, licensed mental health therapist. You can rest assured that both your body and mind are safe and supported. Classes are infused with therapeutic interventions to directly address symptoms of trauma, anxiety, and stress.
